Abstract
Analysis of the effect of aging heat treatment and cooling media on hardness, microstructure, and crystal structure of CuHfCo alloys was carried out. This study was to determine the effect of water and air cooling media after homogenization 8500C heat treatment, held for 1 hour, and aging at 3000C temperature against hardness, microstructure and chemical element composition. Testing the hardness of CuHfCo alloy with Vickers scale and testing the crystal structure and crystal lattice size using X-ray diffractometer. Observation of surface morphology and elemental composition with Scanning Electron Microscopy and X-ray Disversive Energy (SEM-EDX). The hardness test results of CuHfCo alloy material after heat treatment increased the hardness value by 6.7% from 372.3HV to 397.1 HV. The microstructure test results and crystal lattice size showed that the size of the crystal lattice in CuHfCo alloy materials both cooling water and air around 18-84 nm and forming a martensite phase-ɣ. And the results of SEM analysis showed the existence of martensite twinned phase and chemical composition of Cu 67%, Hf 21%, and Co 12%.
