Abstract

Penelitian ini menjelaskan tentang pengaruh dari arah pengerolan material baja SA 516 Gr.70 terhadap kekerasan, kekuatan tarik, dan struktur kristal dari material tersebut, karena material tersebut umum digunakan sebagai bagian shell pada pressure vessel yang dalam pembuatannya memerlukan proses rolling. Perlakuan forming kepada material mempengaruhi nilai kekerasan, kekuatan tarik, dan struktur kristal material. Material uji dibedakan menjadi 3 menurut arah pemotongan, yaitu material dipotong searah alur hotroll, material dipotong berlawanan dengan alur hotroll, dan material dipotong diagonal arah alur hotroll. Material dipotong dengan menggunakan mesin potong plasma, lalu dilakukan proses forming yaitu pengerolan pada 3 material tersebut. Hasil potong yang telah di rol lalu dilakukan pengujian, yaitu pengujian kekerasan dengan hardness tester (brinell), pengujian kekuatan tarik dengan alat yang sama dengan hardness tester lalu dikonversi nilainya, dan struktur kristal dengan menggunakan X-Ray Diffraction test. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi material setelah di rol mengalami perubahan pada kekerasan dan kekuatan tarik nya, sedangkan untuk struktur kristal tidak terlalu berpengaruh karena hasilnya tidak berbeda jauh diantara 3 material uji tersebut. / This study describes the effect of the direction of rolling of SA 516 Gr.70 steel material on the hardness, tensile strength, and crystal structure of the material because this material is commonly used as part of the shell on pressure vessels which requires a rolling process to manufacture. The forming treatment of the material affects the hardness, tensile strength, and crystal structure of the material. The testing material is divided into 3 types according to the cutting direction, that are cut in the direction of the hot roll groove material, cut against the hot roll groove material, and cut diagonally in the direction of the hot roll groove material. The material is cut using a plasma cutting machine then the forming process is carried out by rolling the 3 types of testing materials. The cut products that have been rolled are then tested, such as hardness testing with a hardness tester (Brinell), tensile strength testing with the same tool as a hardness tester and then converting its value, and crystal structure using an X-Ray Diffraction test. The results shows that the material condition after being rolled experienced a change on its hardness and tensile strength, while the crystal structure was not too influential because the results are not much different on the 3 types testing materials.
