Hal ini dibuktikan adanya perwakilan Convention On International Trade In Endangered Species Of Wild Fauna And Flora (CITES) di Indonesia secara resmi. Terkhususnya bidang pembangunan berkelanjutan. The research utilizes secondary data obtained from journals, books, previous studies, international media, and national media. This qualitative study incorporates concepts such as national interests, SDGs No. 15 Life On Land, political economy, and public diplomacy. Indonesia's strategies to address the decline in orangutan populations are divided into NGO strategies and government strategies. NGO strategies include rehabilitation and reintroduction, habitat conservation, and community development. Government strategies involve international cooperation and reforestation. The concepts of national interests and social greens are employed to discuss NGO strategies. Public diplomacy concept is used to analyze community development. The institutionalist political economy concept is useful in dissecting government strategies. The concept of SDGs No. 15 Life On Land is employed to discuss reforestation. The research findings highlight that Indonesia's strategy in preserving orangutan sustainability is necessary to prevent their extinction and to enhance Indonesia's global reputation. The study reveals that orangutan conservation has become a global issue, evidenced by the presence of CITES representatives in Indonesia. CITES has successfully curbed illegal orangutan trade and facilitated the repatriation of orangutans from neighboring countries. Other supporting evidence includes international donations. Orangutan conservation has attracted global donors, including the ministries of the United States and Australia. Additionally, assistance from the UN, embassies, and compassionate donors has been received. In conclusion, this research emphasizes that the strategy aims to preserve orangutans and safeguard Indonesia's reputation on the international stage, particularly in the field of sustainable development.
