Abstract

Manusia tidak dapat hidup sendiri karena merupakan makhluk sosial; sebaliknya, mereka terus-menerus terlibat dalam interaksi sosial. Manusia menggunakan bahasa sebagai bentuk komunikasi karena alasan ini. Ada dua jenis bahasa yang digunakan dalam komunikasi: bahasa formal dan bahasa informal. Kata slang termasuk dalam bahasa informal, dalam penelitian ini penulis akan membahas ungkapan slang. Tesis ini akan fokus pada ekspresi slang dalam film berjudul “Suicide Squad. Melalui teori Gottlob Frege, referensi ekspresi adalah hal atau objek nyata yang dirujuk oleh ekspresi tersebut, sedangkan pengertian ekspresi adalah "mode penyajian" atau nilai kognitif yang berkaitan dengan ekspresi yang digunakan untuk memilih referensi tersebut. . Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk 1) mendeskripsikan jenis-jenis ekspresi slang dalam film Suicide Squad, 2) mendeskripsikan strategi yang digunakan oleh penerjemah untuk menerjemahkan ekspresi slang. Metode yang digunakan penulis adalah metode Manual Data Analysis (MDAP). Analisis Data Manual terdiri dari tiga aktivitas bersamaan: reduksi data, tampilan data, dan inferensi/verifikasi. Peneliti hanya berkonsentrasi pada reduksi data dalam teknik pengumpulan data ini. Teori yang digunakan dalam strategi subtitling adalah teori Gottlieb. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa melalui film ini banyak ditemukan referensi perasaan karena sebagian besar ungkapan slang dalam film “suicide squad” adalah kata-kata negatif dan mengungkapkan kemarahan. Hasil penelitian tentang strategi apa yang digunakan oleh penerjemah adalah strategi perluasan. Dari 20 data yang diteliti, setengah dari data tersebut menggunakan strategi rata-rata ekspansi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penelitian melalui film “Suicide Squad” banyak menggunakan referensi perasaan dan juga menggunakan strategi ekspansi dalam menerjemahkan setiap percakapan yang terjadi dalam film tersebut. / Humans cannot live alone because they are social beings; instead, they are constantly engaged in social interaction. Humans use language as a form of communication for this reason. There are two types of language used in communication: formal language and informal language. Slang words are included in informal language, in this study the author will discuss slang expressions. This thesis will focus on slang expressions in a film entitled “Suicide Squad”. Through Gottlob Frege's theory, the reference of an expression is the real thing or object that the expression is referring to, whereas the sense of an expression is the "mode of presentation" or cognitive value relating to the expression through which the reference is picked out. The aims of this study are to 1) Describe the types of slang expressions in the film Suicide Squad, and 2) Describe the strategies used by translators to translate slang expressions. The method used by the author is the Manual Data Analysis (MDAP) method. Manual Data Analysis consists of three concurrent activities: data reduction, data display, and inference/verification. Researchers only concentrate on data reduction in this data collection technique. The theory used in the subtitling strategy is Gottlieb's theory. The results of the study show that through this film many references of feeling are found because most of the slang expressions in the film “suicide squad” are negative words and express anger. The results of research on what strategies are used by translators are expansions strategies. Of the 20 data studied, half of the data used the average expansions strategy. It can be concluded that research through the film "Suicide Squad" uses a lot of references of feelings and also uses expansions strategies in translating every conversation that occurs in the film.
