Abstract

Kanker telah menjadi isu utama di bidang kedokteran, dan merupakan salah satu dari sepuluh penyebab utama kematian di seluruh dunia. Kanker paru-paru adalah penyebab paling umum kematian akibat kanker di seluruh dunia. Setiap tahun, lebih dari 8 juta orang di seluruh dunia meninggal karena kanker. Berdasarkan data dari GLOBOCAN (International Agency for Research on Cancer) pada tahun 2020, kanker paru-paru menempati peringkat ketiga dalam jumlah kasus, setelah kanker payudara dan kanker serviks, dengan 34.783 kasus (8,8%) dari total 396.914 kasus kanker, dan merupakan penyebab utama dari 25.943 (14,1%) kematian akibat kanker dari total 183.368 kematian akibat kanker. Di Indonesia, lebih dari 70% kasus kanker paru-paru baru terdiagnosis pada stadium lanjut atau sudah menyebar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi profil pasien yang menderita kanker paru-paru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pengumpulan data retrospektif dari arsip rekam medis RSUD Tarakan selama periode 2020 hingga 2022. Sampel penelitian mencakup semua rekam medis pasien dengan carcinoma paru pada periode tersebut. Dari 37 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, sebanyak 9 pasien (24,3%) terdiagnosis carcinoma paru pada usia 60 hingga 64 tahun. Pria lebih banyak terkena kanker paru-paru dibandingkan perempuan, dengan jumlah 20 pasien (54,1%). Dari segi histopatologi, sebanyak 22 pasien (59,5%) terdiagnosis dengan jenis Adenocarcinoma. Selain itu, terdapat 22 pasien (59,5%) yang memiliki riwayat merokok. Maka dari itu, deteksi dini sangat penting untuk individu yang berisiko tinggi terkena kanker paru-paru, sehingga tindakan medis dapat dilakukan sesegera mungkin. Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer death worldwide. Every year, more than 8 million people worldwide die from cancer. Based on data from GLOBOCAN (International Agency for Research on Cancer) in 2020, lung cancer ranked third in number of cases, after breast cancer and cervical cancer, with 34,783 cases (8.8%) out of a total of 396,914 cancer cases, and was the leading cause of 25,943 (14.1%) cancer deaths out of a total of 183,368 cancer deaths. In Indonesia, more than 70% of lung cancer cases are diagnosed at an advanced stage or have already spread. This study aims to explore the profile of patients with lung cancer. This study used a descriptive method with retrospective data collection from the medical record archive of Tarakan Regional General Hospital during the period 2020 to 2022. The study sample included all medical records of patients with lung carcinoma in that period. Of the 37 patients who met the inclusion criteria, 9 patients (24.3%) were diagnosed with lung carcinoma at the age of 60 to 64 years. Men were more affected by lung cancer than women, with a total of 20 patients (54.1%). In terms of histopathology, 22 patients (59.5%) were diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma type. In addition, 22 patients (59.5%) had a history of smoking. Therefore, early detection is very important for individuals who are at high risk of developing lung cancer, so that medical action can be taken as soon as possible.
