Abstract

COVID-19 (Coronavirus Disease-19) is caused by the Corona virus and has become a pandemic around the world, including Indonesia. The World Health Organization (WHO) encourages all countries to develop a COVID-19 vaccine to create herd immunity. Studies show that there is a decrease in antibody titers six months after vaccination, especially with the emergence of new COVID-19 variants such as Omicron. Therefore, the government started the COVID-19 Booster vaccination program, which includes Primary and Booster doses. This program is intended to combat, break the chain of virus transmission, and re-establish herd immunity in the population. But due to a lack of public understanding of the importance of vaccination, the COVID-19 Booster vaccination rate is low. Especially in remote areas such as Nias Island, many people do not have sufficient knowledge about the COVID-19 vaccine. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of community knowledge of the Booster vaccine and the level of compliance with the COVID-19 vaccination in Umbubalodano Village, Sitolu'ori District, Nias. This study uses a correlation study method which is analytical observational with a Cross Sectional approach. Based on analysis with the Chi Square test, it was found that of 370 respondents, the level of community knowledge was categorized as good as 306 respondents (82.7%) and the level of community compliance was categorized as compliant as many as 370 respondents (100%). A P value of 0.000 was obtained so that P < 0.05 so that there was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the level of compliance with carrying out COVID-19 vaccination in Umbubalodano Village, Sitolu'ori District. Through the results of this study, it can be concluded that the community in Umbubalodano Village, Sitolu'ori Subdistrict generally has a good level of knowledge and level of compliance. Keywords: COVID-19 booster vaccination, level of knowledge and compliance, community
