Abstract

After ischemic heart disease, stroke is the second leading cause of death in the world. In Indonesia, stroke is still a significant health problem with the incidence of stroke affecting 2,120,362 people or 10.9% of the total population in Indonesia and the incidence of stroke increases every day with an estimate of ± 500,000 each year. Where 25% died while others experienced mild or severe disabilities. With the increase in stroke cases every year, many previous studies have concluded that stroke has risk factors that cannot be modified and risk factors that can be modified. Age and gender are risk factors that cannot be modified while hypertension, obesity, diabetes mellitus and dyslipidemia are risk factors that can be modified. This is the basis for why the Ischemic Stroke Risk Factor Profile research at the Indonesian Christian University General Hospital for the January – December 2022 period was carried out. Using descriptive research methods with a retrospective approach, it was found that of the 57 cases of ischemic stroke studied, 29 cases (50.9%) occurred at the age of 45-65 years and 31 cases (54.4%) occurred in women. Meanwhile, 50 cases (87.7%) had hypertension, and in 41 cases (71.9%) it was found that ischemic stroke patients were overweight. If we look at the instant blood sugar examination carried out at the initial examination of the patient's arrival at the hospital, 30 cases (52.9%) had instant blood sugar levels of 100-199 mg/dl. When examining the lipid profile, it was found that 28 cases (49.1%) had borderline high total cholesterol levels, 16 cases (28.1%) had borderline high LDL levels, 41 cases (71.9%) were found to have borderline high HDL levels. optimal and 23 cases (40.4%) had optimal triglyceride levels.
