Abstract

Perkembangan di awal abad 21 tidak diimbangi dengan perkembangan teori dan literatur tentang perkotaan yang memadai. Hal ini disebabkan kurangnya pengembangan teori perkotaan yang secara komprehensif. Pendekatan pengembangan teori dengan epistemology yang sering dipakai dalam study Perencanaan Kota (City Planning) dan desain arsitektural di akhir abad ke 19 dan Abad ke 20 lebih banyak menggunakan pendekatan epistemology Psychoanalysis. Namun metode pengembangan teori dengan epistemology ini yang melihat desain dan perancangan secara subjektif dari perencana menyebabkan pengembangan studi perencanaan kota dan arsitektur menjadi kurang bermakna. Dengan memetakan perbedaan ketiga epystemologi yaitu Psychoanalysis, SchizoAnalysis dan RythmAnalysis dalam literatur, terdapat kekurangan yang signifikan dari ketiga epystemologi dalam hal konsepsi gerakan, waktu dan persepsi yang terkait dengan fenomena nyata khususnya pertumbuhan dan perkembangan objek perencanaan dan desain yang dinamis. Saya mengembangkan lebih lanjut konsep epistemology Motionanalysis yang dapat melengkapi pengembangan konsep dari tiga epystemologi tersebut dengan menggunakan kerangka gerakan, waktu dan persepsi. Saya menilai epistemology ini dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif dalam perancangan kota dan desain arsitektur sebagai alat analysis dan metodology dalam pengembangan teori perencanaan kota, urbanisme dan arsitektur khususnya fenomena empiris urbanisasi di abad ke 21. Yang menjadi tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melengkapi kajian literatur tentang pengembangan konseptual teori perkotaan dengan menggunakan pendekatan epistemology sehingga ditemukan dasar berfikir (reasoning) yang jelas dan sistematis dalam pengembangan teori perkotaan. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk memetakan dan melengkapi ketiga epystemologi tersebut dengan kerangka (framework) gerakan, waktu dan persepsi. Dengan mengembangkan epystemologi Motionanalysis sehingga dapat mengungkap fenomena perubahan dan aliran kontinuitas yang tidak diungkap oleh ketiga epystemologi sebelumnya . Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Grounded Theory Methodology yaitu dengan melakukan theory coding untuk memetakan dan mengembangkan konsep epistemology yang sudah ada dan menemukan konsep baru Motionanalysis untuk melengkapi epistemology sebelumnya. Ketiga epistemology sebelumnya dan konsep Motionanalysis kemudian dikomparasikan dengan menggunakan data primer berupa wawancara dengan praktisi dan ahli perkotaan dan menggunakan data sekunder dengan menampilkan dan mengkomparasikan contoh-contoh teori sehingga dapat menunjukkan signifikansi epistemology Motionanalysis terhadap konsep epistemology sebelumnya khususnya dalam kritik studi perkotaan./Developments in the early 21st century were not matched by adequate developments in urban theory and literature. This is due to the lack of comprehensive urban theory development. The most basic way of developing a theory or concept is by using epistemology. The theory development approach with epistemology which is often used in the study of city planning and architectural design in the late 19th and 20th centuries mostly uses the epistemology Psychoanalysis approach. However, the theory development method with epistemology Psychoanalysis which looks at design subjectively from planners causes the development of urban planning and architectural studies to become less meaningful. The development of cities in the 21st century is becoming something complex with increasing population, growth and expansion of urban areas so that a more appropriate analytical framework is needed to explain and interpret the process of urban growth. From my study of the literature. By mapping the differences of the three epistemologies namely Psychoanalysis, SchizoAnalysis and RythmAnalysis in Literature, there is a significant deficiency of the three Epistemologies in terms of the conception of movement, time and perception associated with real phenomena, especially the growth and development of dynamic planning and design objects. I further developed the concept of epistemology Motionanalysis which can complement the concept development of the three epistemologies by using the framework of movement, time and perception. I believe that this Epistemology can provide a more comprehensive understanding of urban planning and architectural design as an analysis tool and methodology in the development of urban planning theory, urbanism and architecture, especially the empirical phenomena of urbanization in the 21st century. The aim of this research is to complement the literature review. regarding the conceptual development of urban theory using an epistemological approach so that a clear and systematic reasoning is found in the development of urban theory. This study also aims to mapping and complement the three epistemologies with movement, time and perception frameworks. By developing the epistemology of Motionanalysis so that it can reveal the phenomenon of change and the flow of continuity that was not revealed by the three previous epistemologies. This research method uses Grounded Theory Methodology, namely by doing theory coding to map and develop existing epistemology concepts and find new concepts of Motionanalysis to complement previous epistemologies. The three previous epistemologies and the concept of Motionanalysis are then compared using primary data in the form of interviews with urban practitioners and experts and using secondary data by displaying and comparing examples of theories so as to show the significance of the Motionanalysis epistemology to previous epistemological concepts, especially in critique of urban studies.
