Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan masalah dunia maupun Indonesia. Berdasarkan Riskesdas 2018 prevalensi hipertensi mencapai 34,1% sedangkan obesitas mencapai 21,8%. Hipertensi tidak memiliki penyebab yang spesifik, namun salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya hipertensi adalah berat badan berlebih karena menyebabkan peningkatan curah jantung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh (IMT) dengan kejadian hipertensi di Puskesmas Barimba Kapuas Hilir Kabupaten Kapuas. Penelitian dilakukan dengan desain potong lintang. Teknik pemilihan sampel menggunakan cara consecutive sampling menggunakan data sekunder berupa rekam medis. Data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik chi-square. Tidak didapatkan hubungan yang bermakna antara IMT >25 dan hipertensi (p=0,874). Kesimpulan lebih separuh dari pasien hipertensi memiliki IMT >25, tetapi tidak ada hubungan yang bermakna dengan kejadian hipertensi di Puskesmas Barimba Kapuas Hilir Kabupaten Kapuas Tahun 2020. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, Indeks massa tubuh. / Hypertension is a global problem and in Indonesia. Based on the 2018 basic health survey, the prevalence of hypertension was 34.1% and obesity was 21.8%. Hypertension does not have a specific cause, but one of the risk factors for hypertension is obesity, as it can increase cardiac output. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between body mass index and the incidence of hypertension at the Barimba Kapuas Hilir Health Center, Kapuas Regency. This research was conducted with a cross sectional design. With a consecutive sampling method using medical records, we obtained 85 patients with hypertension. Data were processed and analyzed using the chi-square statistical test. There was no statistical significant association (p-value = 0.874) between obesity and hypertension. We concluded that more almost two-third of the patients were obese, but there was no association between obesity and hypertension at the Barimba Kapuas Hilir Health Center, Kapuas Regency in 2020.
