Abstract

Tangan merupakan perantara utama pembawa mikroba penyebab infeksi. Dengan menjaga kebersihan tangan baik menggunakan sabun maupun hand sanitizer dapat memutus mata rantai penyebaran kuman sehingga dapat mencegah beberapa penyakit infeksi. Kebersihan tangan dapat terjaga seluruhnya bila mencuci tangan dilakukan dengan baik dan benar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan jumlah koloni bakteri antara teknik mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun dengan 1 langkah, 7 langkah, dan dengan menggunakan hand sanitizer pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Kristen Indonesia Angkatan 2019. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian pre test-post test design. Hasil penelitian secara deskriptif didapatkan penurunan jumlah koloni terbanyak yaitu pada kelompok mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun dengan 7 langkah sebesar 83,14 koloni, diikuti dengan menggunakan hand sanitizer sebesar 63,29 koloni, dan terakhir menggunakan sabun dengan 1 langkah sebesar 44,86 koloni. Kata Kunci : hand sanitizer, jumlah koloni bakteri, sabun, teknik mencuci tangan. / Hands are the main intermediaries for carrying microbes that cause infection. Maintaining hand hygiene using soap or hand sanitizer can break the chain of the spread of germs so as to prevent several diseases. Hand hygiene can be fully maintained if hand washing is done properly and correctly. The purpose of this study was to compare the number of bacterial colonies between handwashing techniques using soap with 1 step, 7 steps, and by using a hand sanitizer for students of the Faculty of Medicine at the Indonesian Christian University Class of 2019. This research method used a experiment type research with pre test-post test design. The results of the descriptive study showed that the largest decrease in the number of colonies was in the group washing hands with soap in 7 steps of 83,14 colonies, followed by using a hand sanitizer of 63,29 colonies, and finally using soap in 1 step of 44,86 colonies.
