Abstract

Infeksi adalah penyebab kematian utama setelah penyakit gangguan kardiovaskular. Mencuci tangan adalah salah satu tindakan sanitasi dengan membersihkan jari-jemari menggunakan air atau cairan lainnya oleh manusia dengan tujuan untuk menjadi bersih. Mencuci tangan merupakan salah satu cara paling efektif untuk mencegah penyakit diare dan keracunan makan. Antimikroba adalah zat atau substansi pembasmi mikroba, khususnya mikroba yang merugikan. Antimikroba pada dasarnya memiliki dua mekanisme yaitu, bakteriostatik (melemahkan bakteri) dan bakterisida (membunuh bakteri). Penelitian ini dilakukkan untuk mengetahui perbandingan jumlah koloni kuman sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan Hand Sanitizer dengan metode swab pada telapak tangan kanan mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran UKI. Pengumpulan data diambil dari hasil inkubasi kuman yang ditanam di media agar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis untuk melihat perbandingan jumlah koloni kuman sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan Hand Sanitizer. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada Hand sanitizer 1, rata-rata jumlah koloni bakteri sebelum dicuci sebesar 170,20, dan setelah dicuci sebesar 72,87. Pada hand sanitizer 2, rata-rata jumlah koloni bakteri sebelum dicuci sebesar 190,00, dan setelah dicuci sebesar 67,27. Pada hand sanitizer 3, rata-rata jumlah koloni bakteri sebelum dicuci sebesar 256,93, dan setelah dicuci sebesar 72,07. Terdapat perbedaan bermakna antara jumlah koloni sebelum dan setelah mencuci tangan dengan ketiga jenis hand sanitizer yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai Sig < 0,05. Tetapi berdasarkan uji statistik diketahui bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan rata-rata jumlah koloni setelah mencuci tangan antara ketiga jenis hand sanitizer yang ditunjukkan dengan nilai Sig (0,987) > 0,05. Hand washing is one of the actions of sanitation with cleansing fingers use water or other liquids by human for the purpose of being clean. Washing hands is one of the most effective substance exterminator microbes, particulary harmful microbes. Antimicrobials basically have two mechanism, especially bacteriostatic (weaken the bacteria) and bactericidal (killed the bacteria). This study was conducted to compare the number of colonies before and after using Hand Sanitizer to UKI medical students. This research was conducted to compare the number of germ colonies before and after using Hand Sanitizer with the swab method on the right hand of UKI Faculty of Medicine students. Data collection was taken from the results of incubation of germs planted in agar media. This research use descriptive analysis method to see the comparison of the number of colonies of germs before and after using Hand Sanitizer. The results showed that in Hand sanitizer 1, the average number of bacterial colonies before washing was 170.20, and after washing was 72.87. In hand sanitizer 2, the average number of bacterial colonies before washing is 190.00, and after washing is 67.27. In hand sanitizer 3, the average number of bacterial colonies before washing was 256.93, and after washing was 72.07. There was a significant difference between the number of colonies before and after washing hands with the three types of hand sanitizer indicated by Sig <0.05. But based on statistical tests it is known that there is no difference in the average number of colonies after washing hands between the three types of hand sanitizer indicated by the Sig (0.987)> 0.05.
